  • Inside

Melynsy is a calm, characterful woodland retreat where historic details sit effortlessly alongside contemporary design. Two beautifully connected living spaces create the heart of the home: a cosy snug with a feature fireplace and built-in bar for slow evenings, and a light-filled lounge looking out onto the surrounding trees, made for unhurried afternoons. At the centre of the house sits the open-plan kitchen and dining space, fully equipped for self-catering, from casual breakfasts to evenings gathered around the table.

Melynsy sleeps up to eight guests across four thoughtfully designed bedrooms, each with its own distinctive style and atmosphere. There are three bathrooms, including a generous family bathroom with freestanding bath and a private ensuite shower room, alongside an additional downstairs shower room for added comfort.

  • Outside

Set within 2.5 acres of private woodland, Melynsy’s outdoor spaces are wonderfully secluded, immersed in nature. A generous patio with dining for eight opens onto the surrounding greenery, with steps leading to a wide lawn and peaceful corners for afternoons outdoors. Sun loungers invite you to linger on warm days, while the Kamado barbecue is perfect for summer suppers. As dusk settles, the surrounding trees and birdsong create an atmosphere of complete escape, every corner designed for slowing down, reconnecting and simply being together.

Tucked within the inner courtyard, the cedar hot tub offers an indulgent spot for evening soaks beneath the stars. Beyond the trees lies a large open field, ideal for morning walks and stretching out with the dog, with direct access onto nearby countryside paths.

Melynsy is set within one of Cornwall’s most enchanting landscapes, where woodland paths, quiet creeks and dramatic coastline meet. Nearby stretches of the South West Coast Path, made famous by The Salt Path, offer some of the most beautiful walking in the region.

Just minutes away, the village of Gweek is home to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, along with a historic quay, peaceful waterside walks and a charming local atmosphere. The surrounding area invites exploration, from the atmospheric Poldark Mine and watersports at Stithians Lake, to the striking Terence Coventry Sculpture Park and the breathtaking coastline of the Lizard Peninsula, including Kynance Cove and Mullion Cove.

For everyday treats, Gweek Stores & Farm Shop is a favourite for artisan produce and fresh pastries. Dining options range from the cosy village Black Swan and waterside Boatyard Café, to outstanding nearby favourites such as The Ship Inn at Mawgan and the renowned Kota in Porthleven.
