It started with a family home…

Luxury Stays Collection began with a simple idea: creating homes for our family to enjoy together.

What started on family land in Devon grew into a collection of retreats, each with its own character and a setting that made us want to stay. As the collection grew, so did the idea of sharing these places with others.

Today, we welcome guests to make their own memories in the homes that mean so much to us. A weekend with friends, a family celebration or a few days away together: we home you feel as at home here as we do.

Where it all began…

Cruwys Ball & Cruwys Cote, Devon

It began with Cruwys Ball, a dilapedated, 200 year-old farmhouse that we could see deserved a furutre. three years of building and resotation followed, with Christian working hands-on to bring it back to life.

Alongside it, an old Linhay barn was taking on a new purpose of its own, becoming Cruwys Cote. These were personal projects, rooted in our family’s love of creating homes and the beginning of something we hadn’t yet imagined.

The beggining of a collection

Melynsy & Lowartha, Cornwall

While work continued in Devon, we came across Melnsy and Lowartha, tucked into a valley together in Cornwall. Surrounded by nature, the setting felt like a world of its own. We fell in love almost immediately.

Both homes were already welcoming guests through Boutique Retreats when we bought them. They introduces us to the possibility of sharing the places we loved, and it was here that the idea for Luxury Stays Collection began to take shape.

A return to the Lakes

HartHill, Lake District

Our love for the Lake District, particularly Ambleside and Tarn Hows, led us to Harthill. Once a country house hotel, it had fallen into disrepair, but we could see the potential to give it a new life.

After three years of renovation, we welcomed our firsts guests in 2025. Back in Devon, Cruwys Ball and Cruwys Cote were finally ready too, brining the homes where it all began into the collection.

An unexpected discovery

Underhill, Peak District

Underhill found us through a Facebook advert in 2025. Designed by architect Arthur Quarmby, this remarkable underground family home was unlike anything we had seen before.

When we visited, it was a combination of the architecture, the views and the feeling of being somewhere entirely different that stayed with us. We fell in love with it and wanted to bring it back to its original glory.

We spent the following months working on the renovation ourselves, by hand, with care for the character that makes UnderHill so special. Sharing it with guests became the next chapter in our story.

Still to come

Cliff cottage & Beyond

Our story is still growing. On the seafront in Mousehole, Cliff cottage has long been our own family holiday home. It holds years of memories for us, and we are now prepairing to share it with guests, with opening planned later in 2026.

As the collection grows, the approach remails personal: finding places we love, seeing what they could become and putting our care into every stage.
